Local Area

Rowan House is located approximately 10 minutes walk from Camberley town centre. Camberley is a medium sized town, which is mainly residential, with many popular chain stores. These include Boots, Alders and Topshop. The town also has all the main Banks and Building Societies as well as a variety of restaurants, travel agents and all the usual fast food chains.

Camberley is in the county of Surrey which is renowned for being one of the safest areas in the UK.  It is close to Reading, a large City;  Ascot - home to Britain's premier horse racing ground; and Windsor, where the Queen lives throughout most of the summer.  Each of these destinations are easily accessed by public transport or car in around fifteen minutes.

Camberley train station has regular trains to London, Ascot and other destinations.  There is another train station nearby with direct a link to Gatwick Airport.  Also, a bus runs from just outside Rowan House to Central London (Kensington, Knightsbridge or Victoria Station) several times a day with a journey time of around 50 minutes.

There is a large library in the town which has a vast range of book, CDs and videos. It is easy to join and you can borrow as many as 8 books for up to 3 weeks. Next to the library there is a careers centre where you can speak to career's advisers and also search for universities or courses on the UCAS web site.

Camberley has several churches and a mosque. If you are a Christian (or even interested in Christianity, you are welcome to come to Sunday services with us at Highcross Church where we are members.

Opposite our house is a wooded area where you can go jogging or walking. Many people enjoy going for a morning walk in this beautiful landscape.

There is a health centre situated less than a mile from the house, where there is a gym, swimming pool, sports hall and a health suite (shower, saunas and a Jacuzzi). If you feel you would like to take advantage of this facility we will be very glad to show you where it is.
